What are microaggressions?
As Dr. Sue defines them, microaggressions are the everyday slights, insults, putdowns, invalidations, and offensive behaviors that people of marginalized groups experience in their daily interactions with generally well-intentioned people who are unaware of their impact. Disarming Microaggressions shows learners how comments or questions that might sound harmless or even like compliments, actually carry a hidden message that hurts. This course includes activities to identify the hidden messages and then practice how to speak up and interrupt a microaggression when it happens or afterwards.
Accessibility and language versions - Spanish (LATAM) + Canadian French
Disarming Microaggressions eLearning has been produced according to the highest standards of accessibility. Includes Audio Descriptions, captions, alt text descriptions, color contrast, tab order and many more features for digital accessibility. Our goal is to provide options and allow learners to interact with the course the way they prefer.
SunShower has also produced two language versions that are also truly accessible. The Spanish (Latin America) version, “Desarmar las microagresiones”, and the Canadian French version, “Désarmorcer les micro-agressions”.
