The 21-Day Plan for Disarming Microaggressions Wins the IMA Best in Class Award for Advocacy

I’m delighted to announce that The 21-Day Plan for Disarming Microaggressions has won the Interactive Media Awards (IMA) Best in Class Award in two categories, Advocacy” and “Training”. The Best in Class Award is the highest honor bestowed by IMA and represents the very best in planning, execution and overall professionalism. Winning this award involved a comprehensive judging process and the achievement of very high marks in each judging criteria — an achievement earned by only a fraction of entries in the IMA program each year.  We couldn’t be prouder.

I’m grateful to the IMA for this recognition and to Dr. Derald Wing Sue for his guidance and partnership in making this micro-learning course meaningful and relevant for today’s challenges.  I appreciate that this award will raise awareness of the program and shine a light on the topic of microaggressions – what they are, how they cause harm and what can be done to interrupt and stop them. Thanks also to Marsha Ross-Jackson for her valuable contributions to the course.

The 21-Day Plan for Disarming Microaggression consists of 21 micro-learning modules, each three to five minutes in length. The content includes videos, scenarios and skill-building activities on topics such as speaking up in the face of microaggressions, recovering and rebuilding trust, serving as an ally, and preventing microaggressions altogether.  The 21-Day Plan is a SCORM 1.2 course that can be installed on your LMS or accessed via SunShower’s LMS. Limited and unlimited licenses are available, with discounts for educational institutions and non-profits.

Dr. Sue has written about the 21-Day Plan, “Joel Lesko and SunShower Learning have produced the gold standard of anti-bias training that will have a lasting and beneficial impact in business, industry and education.”

For SunShower, the 21-Day Plan represents another step in our commitment to meeting the needs of our clients with experiential learning that helps learners think, feel, reflect, and choose new, more inclusive habits.
